Anglia-Ruskin University (ARU) is proud to announce its Sports Scholarship for the 2025 academic year. This program is designed to help talented athletes achieve their sporting ambitions while pursuing academic excellence. By offering financial aid and performance support, ARU aims to nurture the next generation of elite athletes.
The ARU Sports Scholarship is available at two levels: Elite and Podium. The Elite Level Scholarship provides recipients with £1,400 annually. It is open to students competing at regional or national levels, with funds allocated to cover performance-related expenses.
The Podium Level Scholarship is aimed at athletes competing internationally at the highest levels. Valued at up to £12,500 annually, this scholarship offers full or partial tuition fee waivers to support athletes in their academic and sporting pursuits.

In addition to financial aid, scholarship recipients benefit from individualized strength and conditioning sessions, sports therapy, and access to sports performance workshops. ARU also covers fees, travel, and accommodation for agreed competitions. Scholars receive free access to fitness centers on ARU campuses in Cambridge and Chelmsford.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Sports Scholarship, applicants must meet the entry requirements for their chosen academic course. The scholarship is open to UK, EU, and international students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate taught programs at ARU’s Cambridge, Chelmsford, or Peterborough campuses.

Applicants must demonstrate athletic excellence, competing at the regional or national level for the Elite Scholarship and at the national or international level for the Podium Scholarship. Scholars are also expected to make a significant impact on ARU’s sports teams and contribute to British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) points.
