Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program 2025

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to attract outstanding international students to French higher education institutions for master’s and PhD programs. This prestigious scholarship aims to support future decision-makers in both the private and public sectors, focusing on priority areas of study. It is open to applicants up to 25 years old from developing countries for master’s level programs, and up to 30 years old from both developing and industrialized countries for PhD programs.

Host Institutions and Levels of Study

The scholarship is offered through French universities and academic institutions. Eligible programs include master’s degrees, engineering degrees, and doctorate degrees pursued under joint supervision or co-direction with a partner foreign higher education institution.

Fields of Study

The program encompasses various disciplines in science, technology, humanities, and social sciences. Fields for master’s and doctorate studies include biology and health, ecological transition, mathematics and digital sciences, and engineering sciences for science and technology. In the humanities and social sciences, it covers French history, language, and civilization, law and political science, and economics and management.

Scholarship Value and Duration

For master’s level studies, the Eiffel scholarship offers a monthly allowance of €1,181, with a duration of 12 to 36 months. PhD candidates receive a monthly allowance of €1,800 for up to 12 to 36 months. In addition to these allowances, the program covers international and national transportation, health insurance, housing assistance, and cultural activities.

Tuition fees are not directly covered by the Eiffel Program; however, recipients of French government scholarships are exempt from tuition charges for programs leading to a national diploma or accredited engineering degree in public institutions overseen by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, as per article R719-49 of the national education code.
