Mauritius Government Scholarships are fully funded scholarships offered to outstanding students of the African Union that are resident in the member states in order ease of financial burden and to encourage academic excellence amongst the beneficiaries.
The Mauritius Government Scholarship is designed to support successful candidates with their tuition fees payment and accruing them other benefits such as living allowance during their studies in Mauritius, plus airfare tickets and opportunities for global networking.

Applications for the Scholarships are to be made to the Nominating Agency in the applicant’s country of origin and are NOT to be sent directly to Mauritius by the applicant. The Nominating Agency, which is typically part of Ministry of Education, will select and nominate up to five (5) candidates for undergraduate programmes (indicating clearly the level of studies for each nominated candidate). The Nominating Agency of the country of citizenship of the candidates, or the Ministry of Education, will subsequently transmit the application forms to Mauritius.
Requirements
To successfully apply to the Mauritius Government Scholarship 2025, interested and qualified applicants must note the following namely: For undergraduate programmes, applicants should be above 18 years of age and should not have reached their 26th birthday by 01 January 2026 whereas; for PhD programmes, applicants should not have reached 40 years by 01 January 2026.

Additionally, applicants must have already applied for a full-time on-campus programme (Diploma, Degree, MPhil or PhD) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius (listed in Section 8 in the appropriate Guidelines for Applicants) for academic year starting in 2025.

As a fully funded scholarship, the Mauritius Government Scholarship covers full tuition fee waiver, living allowance and airfare tickets.
