The Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) offers an exceptional opportunity for international students to pursue higher education in China. Hosted by Donghua University, this program provides financial support to attract global talent to Shanghai.
Eligible applicants can apply for bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programs, with scholarships available in two types: full (Type A) and partial (Type B). Type A scholarships cover tuition, free on-campus housing, medical insurance, and monthly stipends ranging from CNY 2,500 to 3,500, ensuring comprehensive support.
On the other hand, Type B scholarships focus on covering tuition and medical insurance, providing significant relief for partially funded students.
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Specific academic and age requirements include a high school diploma for undergraduate programs (≤25 years), a bachelor’s degree for master’s programs (≤35 years), and a master’s degree for doctoral studies (≤40 years). These criteria aim to ensure a high-quality academic environment.
The application period runs from December 1, 2024, to April 15, 2025.
To apply, candidates must prepare several documents, including an online application form, academic transcripts, a study plan or research proposal, recommendation letters (for graduate applicants), a passport copy, and a medical report.
