The University of Bath Scholarship is fully funded Sir Jack Cater Scholarship for the 2025 academic year. This opportunity is specifically tailored for graduates from select Hong Kong universities who have secured admission to pursue a full-time taught master’s degree at the University of Bath.
This scholarship provides a tuition fee reduction of £3,000 to successful applicants. It is open to students enrolling in master’s programs across the Faculty of Engineering & Design, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, and the School of Management. The initiative is funded by the family of Sir Jack Cater and the Parthenon Trust, in honor of Sir Jack’s significant legacy.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be graduates of The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), or Hong Kong Baptist University. Additionally, candidates must hold a confirmed offer for a full-time taught postgraduate master’s course at the University of Bath for the 2025 academic year. Acceptance of either a conditional or unconditional offer is required to proceed with the scholarship application.

The scholarship is named in honor of Sir Jack Cater, a distinguished figure in Hong Kong’s history. As the founding head of Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption, Sir Jack played a pivotal role in combating corruption. He later served as Hong Kong’s Chief Secretary, Acting Governor, and Commissioner in London. In recognition of his contributions, the University of Bath awarded him an honorary degree in 1995.
