WHY EVERY LEADER NEEDS HINDSIGHT
There is this popular belief that the past should be buried and left to rot in its grave because individuals cannot control the events of the past.
This assertion is true in many contexts, but in this context, that belief is hazardous to the development of a complete leader.
You see, one beautiful thing about history is that it repeats itself. What we know as trendy today emanated from the designs of the past, so we cannot totally dismiss the events of the past if we truly want to become transformational leaders.
This is where hindsight comes into play. Every leader should be able to understand events of the past. You should be able to understand events that have shaped the lives of people.
A person who doesn’t understand the past will utilise the present, preparing unconsciously to tarnish the future. Commonsensically, you need the past to shape your future.
The past is a useful instrument as long as it is used to inspire growth and not declination. So get hindsight!
In summation, foresight is amazing, insight is beautiful, hindsight is powerful but the transformational leader, the man or woman who would scale great heights as a leader, is the person who learns to combine insight, foresight and hindsight.
These three sights combined are the best ways to see.
